About me

I am an award winning freelance reporter based in Bozeman, Montana with a track record of writing high-impact stories.

One of my recent stories uncovered alleged sexual abuse by a therapist at the state’s largest homeless shelter. A day after that story ran, the state board that regulates mental health providers’ licenses said they would hold a hearing on the matter, despite knowing about the allegations for nearly two years.

In early 2025, I co-reported a series of scoops about a state senator who attempted to secretly give a contract funded by public money to his longtime friend and business partner. That senator was then charged with a crime, found guilty in a jury trial (the verdict was later thrown out on a technicality).

Another one of my stories led to the Montana Legislature removing the governor’s spending power over a little-known fund worth $86 million that had no restrictions on how it could be spent.

I have won multiple state level and regional awards including 2nd and 3rd place for enterprise reporting at the 2023 Society of Professional Journalists — Top of the Rockies.

I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Duke University in 2020. Since graduation, I have worked for NPR, Montana Free Press and Lee Newspapers in both Wyoming and Montana.

In my free time, I like reading books by other reporters, knitting to the point of finger injuries, watching Liverpool win, wandering with her slinky heeler and all types of rock climbing.
